Voice over Internet Protocol or the VoIP had significantly changed the way we think about long-distance phone calls. VoIP is a process for taking analog audio signals and turning them into digital data that can be transmitted over the Internet. This digital information will then be sent in discrete packets rather than using the traditional circuit-committed protocols of a public switched telephone network. One of the major advantages of VoIP and Internet telephony is that it avoids the expensive tolls charges by ordinary telephone service.
